This unique Chalet cuckoo clock is hand made from natural and stained Linden wood. With a traditional fachwerk style exterior, handmade roof, and ornate detailing on the balcony and windows this truly looks like a traditional German Black Forest chalet. The little Cuckoo door opens, the Cuckoo Bird looks out and the wooden beer drinker slams his mug on the table in time with the cuckoo call which occurs once on the hour and full hour according to the time. The water wheel turns and the figurines wearing traditional black forest clothing dance around to the music from the mechanically driven music box. There are two alternating melodies (Edelweiss and Happy Wanderer) which play every half hour. In addition, the clock features hand carved decorative deer heads, chimney and St. Bernard dogs to complete this iconic Black Forest scene. The clock comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Clock movement: 1 day mechanical (daily wind up) with brass chains and manual off switch for night time.
