The Arvo 504 was a biplane used throughout World War I and with more than 10,000 planes built from 1913 to 1932, it was the most-produced aircraft of any kind that served in any military capacity during the First World War. A "Queensland Arvo plane" is a colloquial reference to the Arvo Baby aircraft flown by pioneer aviator Bert Hinkler in the early 1920s from Sydney to Bundaberg in Queensland.
